The Creatures
Sound Effects and Editing
Each creature needed to feature unique and appropriate sound effects to highlight and emphasize the inherent differences between them the unease each could offer. Working from an online sound database, I created sounds for each creature to fit both their movement and general idle ambiance.
Title Music
Original Music
The title screen of a game is the player's first impression, so it is important that it sets the tone well. When composing the music for the title, I knew it would need to fit the overall expectation of a cheerful, lighthearted pet simulation game, but with the addition of the creep and uncanny side of things as well. The final track is one that switches between cheerful and gloomy, put all together into a very catchy package.

Caring for your Creature
Adaptive Music System
Keeping your creature happy is at the core of any pet simulation game, and in this one, if you don't keep them happy, things might not end well for you either. In order to communicate the the player when their pet is getting unhappy with them, I created an adaptive music system that switched the light-hearted cheerful and bubbly music to something darker and creepier.
Pet Contests
Prototyping and Player Feedback
In order for the player to feel motivated to care for their pet, we developed a system of rewards and objectives, using the same concepts as real-world pet shows. As a sound designer, I worked on adding player feedback to these sections, with celebratory music for winning and disappointed music for loosing.
